It has been a while since my last post... I have been extremely busy. However, the good news is I have a lot of photos to show! The Monday I shot the Twins home-opener capped an epic end to a hell of a photo weekend for my Canon. Here's what the schedule showed for me:
The Friday leading up to the game I shot a Golden Gopher baseball game (at the Metrodome), and then went on an overnight expedition to Cedar Creek (in Bethel, MN). Of course, it all kind of got over-looked by the Twins home-opener game. Quite the weekend to say the least.
In the following weeks I took on a freelance job, shot the Gopher spring football game and assisted my first wedding with Jodi Ann Photography. But I've finally had time to share some of my favorite’s from Cedar Creek.
Cedar Creek is an Ecosystem Science Reserve owned by the University of Minnesota, located in Bethel, MN. I discovered this "diamond in the rough" through my buddy, Dan, who used to work there. He told me that it would be a great opportunity to get some photos. I have never shot wildlife photos and it sounded like a fun little vaca. We grabbed some food, packed the camera gear, and headed north. Dan showed me around, pointed out a ton of wildlife (mainly birds), and was very knowledgeable about area... Seriously it was like walking around the woods with"Crocodile Hunter's" Steve Irwin.
He knows a ton about wildlife and so did his friend, Brandon. I learned a lot from the both of them.
Cedar Creek is actually home to some of the top research projects in the world for nature and wildlife. We probably only walked about 5% of the land and we shot the whole time we were there, sun-down to sun-up. You'd think I have it backwards but check out the photos. Hopefully, I will find some time to go up there again, but enough talk here are the photos!
According to Dan it is better than TP I didn't test it out
In the morning, I let Dan and Brandon play with the DSLR's. They got these four shoots of the birds... but while they were shooting with the digital cameras, I shot with an old Hasselblad. I don't have the film scanned in yet, but I will post them when I do!
