Baseball Composites

I am super excited for this post and the new posts to come! The reason I am excited is because I have been working on this new project… And it started back in February with this image:

This is my baseball composite series. Sports composite is frequently done within skiing and snowboarding photography but I wanted to bring it to another sport. I attempted football, when I attended a Packer game last year but it didn’t work out. Then, I re-attempted it during a baseball game at the Metrodome.

I grabbed the 15mm fisheye lens out of my bag, rested it on a rail (to keep it steady) and took a couple shots on rapid fire. I was trying to capture the flight of the ball. After a couple foul balls the batter chopped a tailor-made double play up the middle, which led to an awesome composition with base runners everywhere and infielders moving in motion! Which made, in my opinion, a sweet photo! Since then, I have been interested in further expanding on this work. I have been shooting for this style ever since but haven’t had a chance to sit down and assemble them in Photoshop until two weeks ago. I spent numerous evening and early morning hours working on them. These are some that I came up with. I plan to continue working on some different styles of these photos and within different sports. But here are the images… check them out and let me know what you think!
