Spaces

Hey everyone,

I have been getting a lot of questions about my Facebook profile photo so I thought now would be a good time to explain and invite!

On Thursday, December 16th my fellow classmates and I are having an open reception for the graduating photography class at my school. The name of our open reception show is called “Spaces”. My profile picture is the actual postcard that we’re using to promote the show.

The other five wonderful people, as well as myself, will have our large prints and portfolios on display! I encourage everyone to come check it out but totally understand if you can’t make it. There will be some food and drinks (non-alcoholic – but we’ll most likely be having some after) and a lot of great photos! Here is one of my photos that will be printed 20x24! Come Check it out!

Show info

Time – Thursday, Decemeber 16 – 6:00pm – 8:30pm

Cook Book part 2

All right… here are some photos from the cookbook… but first I want to explain a little bit about it. I have been working at a catering facility called the Campus Club for the last three years. I started as a server/bar tender and am now working in their marketing department. This year our company wanted to produce a cookbook with some of the recipes from our head chef Beth and the Sous Chef Jorge I have been very fortunate because I have been eating their delicious meals for the last 3 years… A big perk of the job! They do an awesome job and asked me to take photos for this cookbook… I was really excited! I researched some info on food photography because I haven’t shot a tremendous amount of food but it was a fun learning experience and I can’t wait to see the finished product. Here are some of the photos I got on the second day of shooting. Not all of them you will have to buy the book to see. It should be out some time in January.

Beth’s husband and her son Leo stopped by

Get this… We had to re-plan our second day of shooting because of a time confliction. I forgot to check if we had an available room to set up a studio that day. Turned out that all 7 possible rooms I could shoot in was unavailable and this was the only one that worked.

The closet where we keep our glasswear. Good thing food is a small subject matter!

All right this was pretty sweet. The sciences department of the U of M dropped off some liquid nitrogen. Beth and George made some ice cream with the help of our bar manger. These might be my favorite shots of the whole day and plus it was pretty good ice cream!

Campus Club Cook Book post 1

Well like I said last week, I am shooting my first cookbook for my current employer, the Campus Club. I wanted to show a couple photos today because we will be shooting the rest of the book today. I picked up the gear at 7:30AM and I will be shooting by 8:30AM until we are done! If you like the food photos check back in a week or so because the ones I shoot today should be posted as well as more info on the book. For now check out the ones we shot last week!

Anyone hungry?

Lyn Lake

So a little over a mouth ago Kevin Shreifels hired me to take photos for his company. He owns Lyn Lake Chiropractic and he had some clients running in the Twin Cities Marathon with Lyn Lake T-shirt on! He wanted photos of his clients to put on his website. I was excited even though I had to get up at 6:30 AM on a Sunday, but I think the best sunlight for photographs is at sunrise so that was a perk. I was on the Franklin Bridge, a location Kevin suggested. He mainly wanted me to get shots of the runners in the race but he wanted them to look like they have been running for awhile so towards the end of the race was good place to be! Before the runners there was the wheel chair race and it was quite amazing! Before that I was waiting around and couldn’t help my inner Photographer and took phots while waiting for the runners. Then the runners started showing up and I was mainly looking for Lyn Lake t-shirts but I was able to capture a couple other runners that I found interesting! Overall, it was a fun experience and if you have any back problems go see Kevin at Lyn Lake, he is a great guy and will defiantly help you out!
